August…Back to school time.
“Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter.”
-Martin Luther King Jr.-
IT MATTERS that thousands of migrant children are still separated from their parents and families, and being held in Detention Centers on or near our Southern Boarder and will not be going to school this fall.
IT MATTERS that 22 people were killed in El Paso on August 3rd. while doing their annual back to school shopping at a Walmart.
IT MATTERS that 9 people were killed in Dayton on August 4th.
AND IT MATTERS that even after all of the recent mass shootings, the President of the United States of America, while addressing needed gun control, can say: “I have been speaking with the NRA, and others, so that their very strong views can be fully represented and respected.”
Time for a pulse check?
